About Kate

Hello friend! Im glad you made it here. Mom life can be so stressful, discouraging, all consuming and downright exhausting. Especially when you have special needs kids.

But it can also be full of adventures, tender moments and fulfilment that makes you glad you created little humans.

I’m here to share my experiences, mom fails, mom wins, hard learned lessons and knowledge acquired from raising 4 very different children. I’ve been stuck in the trenches, survived “survivor mode” (many times) and navigated through a seemingly never-ending black tunnel.

Now I want to help others get through those experiences with more confidence and joy while embracing the beautiful chaos that is motherhood.

I’m the girl with a bazillion ideas and about a million of them half finished, lol! Im crafty, eclectic, and a project-oholic. I love happy endings, cheesy romances, music and all things Disney. I’m a professional viola player and perform with my string group, Dolce. In 2007 I received my bachelors degree in Nutrition and Food Science and I’m currently in my 16th year of Mom school.
I live in Alberta, Canada with my husband, 4 children and our 2 scruffy dogs.

Quinn

Quinn is my hardworking husband & Joyfully Kate’s tech genius. He's sweet and thoughtful, humble and unassuming. Despite having a calm nature and preferring small relaxed groups over crowds and chaos, he is always ready to go along with whatever impulsive and random thing that pops into my head. Quinn's a legit genius with a masters in aerospace engineering and a PhD in biomedical engineering. He's fluent in French, which I appreciated while we were in Paris. We’ve been best friends since we were nerdy 16yr olds playing trombone in band class. Now we’re nerdy 30 something year olds with a house full of chaos and joy.

Bella is my only daughter and I wish I could clone her - the world needs more Bella’s. She’s the best daughter I could have hoped for. Bella is thoughtful, kind, helpful, extremely artistic & totally hilarious. Bella enjoys reading, TV & movies, music, crafts of any kind, cooking and having girl dates with me. Bella’s often found with headphones on, bubble tea in one hand and a book in the other.

Jude has been through much in his life so far but that hasn't diminished his amazing spirit. He is sweet, incredibly smart and beyond silly. Jude has a beautiful, tender heart which he freely gives to everyone. If you need a hug, he’s your guy. Jude lives for Pokemon, video games, penguins, root beer, LEGO, anything blue and learning about WWII and military history. He is better at charades than anyone I know, usually expressing him self through actions, gestures and sign language. His patience is astounding and humbling.

Asher is our little fire ball. One minute he's the happiest kid in the world, the next minute it's the worst day of his life. He's passionate, expressive, independent, sweet, goofy and super smart. Due to his adventurous and somewhat clumsy nature Asher is often covered in goose eggs, bruises and scratches. He loves outdoor adventures, soccer, Anime, Manga, video games, science experiments and LEGO. Asher is a social kid and loves being with friends. He can be found eating cereal and sandwiches at any point of the day/all day.
